Student Politics

In many parts of the country students are actively involved in politics and there are student wings of several political parties found on campuses. In Tamil Nadu too this trend is present but for the students of city colleges this is uncommon and unfamiliar territory. Is student politics a healthy trend? Should it become more prevalent?

Students participation is important but understanding is needed
Politics is indispensable for everyone. It is a part and parcel of our life. Right from the water we drink, the electricity we use, the food we eat, the fuel that drives us, the place where we live.... everything involves politics.
But before raising the issue whether students can take part in politics or not, first and foremost thing that a student needs, is the understanding of politics. Beginning with local politics till international politics, each one of us should know the world political scenario. Unless we trigger ourself selves to get this sensitization, we will be simply driven away by the sensational politics of the pseudo politicians.
