Remembering the Earth

Earth Day has been celebrated on April 22nd since 1969. Technically there are two Earth Days that are observed; one on the March Equinox and other on April 22nd. The former was initiated by peace activist John McConnell and the latter was started by US politician Gaylord Nelson.
Earth Day celebrates the earth and in the face of increasing environmental problems, the foremost of which is global warming, it enlightens the public in ways to help save the earth.
Many people take to the streets promoting healthier living that is not hazardous to the environment. Clean ups take place, people come together to reduce pollution and spread awareness about the various environmental dangers that plague the planet.
Do your bit to save the planet.
• Do not litter
• Reduce your use of plastic
• Recycle
• Switch of lights and fans when not being used
• Walk as much as you can instead of taking the car
